A vehicle is anything that can transport people and cargo. This includes cars, trucks, boats, trains, and even bikes. There are also things that fit this definition but aren’t considered vehicles.
These include horses, which can be used for transportation but aren’t usually considered vehicles. Another example is leaving your keys in the ignition when you’re not in the car. This practice makes your car or truck a more attractive target to thieves.
Mobility
A vehicle is a means for transporting people or cargo. It may be a wagon, bicycle, motor vehicle, railed vehicle or even an aircraft. However, the term is most often associated with passenger cars and their internal combustion engine.
The use of private vehicles is viewed as highly problematic. It is linked to global physical, social 운전연수 and ecological harms such as climate change and the high incidence of lifestyle diseases including heart disease. Despite this, the private car continues to be the favoured way to travel in many urban areas. A deeper understanding of this preference can reveal under explored sites of resistance to alternative transport modes.
One such site is the way in which automobility is sustained by an appeal to the value of time saving. This argument is usually based on the assumption that using a private car requires more time than travelling by other means, and that this extra time is worth it for the convenience of being able to choose when and where to go.
Moreover, this view assumes that people value the freedom to travel and that this is the most important factor in choosing to use a car. This is at odds with research that shows that people are motivated by other concerns when they decide to use a particular mode of transport, such as the perceived safety of road users and the ease with which they can reach their destinations.
Convenience
The most obvious use of vehicles is getting people and things where they need to be, whether for work or play. This is what makes a car or truck a vehicle, although the term also applies to boats, trains and airplanes. A vehicle can also mean anything that moves objects, such as a shopping cart. 운전연수
Convenience refers to the ability of a device or service to satisfy the user’s needs with less effort, time and money. It can be relative or absolute:
For example, a person may be willing to travel across town for a doctor who is convenient to her home rather than one who is conveniently located in the same city. But even when distance is not an issue, convenience still matters to some people:
The American Heritage Dictionary of the English Language defines convenience as “the quality of being suitable to one’s comforts, purposes or needs.” It also cites other synonyms for convenience such as “amenity,” which is defined as something that increases comfort or saves work. A convenience store is a type of retail business that offers a variety of products and services in one location. In addition to selling gasoline, these locations usually sell food and beverages, toiletries and newspapers. Often, these stores are open 24 hours and serve as local mini-markets.
Safety
Due to advanced engineering, in-depth research and analysis of crash data, today’s vehicles are safer than ever. Even so, it’s important to remember that these safety features are only one part of a complete safety system. Seat belts, for example, are a basic safety feature that can save lives.
Other safety features that are now commonplace include blind-spot monitoring, which uses cameras or sensors to scan the area around your vehicle and alert you when another driver is in your lane, helping prevent side-swipe collisions; automatic emergency braking, which can automatically brake for you if it senses that a crash is imminent; and lane departure warning, which can offer light steering assistance to guide you back into your lane if you unintentionally leave it.
Many systems also monitor the driver for signs of drowsiness or inattention, including steering inputs and lane departures. Some can even detect if you’ve left a child or pet in the back seat, which might help you avoid a potentially fatal accident.
In addition to these active safety systems, a few manufacturers now offer backup cameras that let you see objects behind your vehicle. These systems, which are required on all new cars, can help prevent backover crashes and give you a better view of pedestrians or other obstacles that could get in your way while backing up. Some of these systems are also designed to assist in emergency situations, with some combining cellular telephone and GPS technology to notify a central dispatch center and summon help.
